Original Spanish Bomba rice is considered to be one of the best and most aromatic rice varieties and is also regarded as the "king of all rice varieties" - the Spanish rice producer Arrocerias Santo Tomas from the Mediterranean region of Valencia is one of the best Bomba rice producers in the region, which still packs its harvest in authentic cloth sacks.

Take a look at our culinary recommendations for this special short grain rice

Due to the special hardness and low starch content (amylose) of Bomba rice, the small, round grains retain their good properties even when stored for long periods. When cooked, this short grain rice retains its firmness, whereby the grains increase in size by a factor of 2 to 3. The grains are therefore particularly absorbent and take on the flavour of the ingredients perfectly. Arroz Bomba takes around 20 minutes to cook

Bomba is a unique Spanish rice variety. This special rice was introduced to the Iberian Peninsula by the Moors and was a widely cultivated rice variety in the 19th century. Today, Arroz Bomba is only offered by a few producers, as its cultivation is very labour-intensive and time-consuming.
