Bodega Gorosti

The txakoli Flysch was brought 2011 as the first vintage on the market. Juan Mª Etxabe, who belongs to the fourth generation of txakolí-producers, planted in 2008 Hondarribi zuri vines in a region which is called “the Basque Coast Geopark”. Bodega Gorosti is located in Elorriaga, very near to the coast line, betwee Itziar-Deba and Zumaia, or, these cities are more known and easier to locate, between Bilbao and San Sebastian.

In the DO Getariako Txakolina, 95% of the vineyards consist of the grape Hondarribi zuri. The remaining percentage is held by the black Hondarrabi beltza.

Txakoli is produced in the Northern part of Spain, in the region of the Basque Country, next to France.

Getaria Txakoli is a wine that has had a designation of origin for the last 25 years.

As a result of the effort in terms of the revival and quality carried out together by the winegrowers and the Basque regional administration, in 1989 Getaria Txakoli was recognised as a Designation of Origin with the name Getariako Txakolina. And in 2007 the Getariako Txakolina Designation expanded its geographical area to the whole of the province of Gipuzkoa.

From its headquarters in Getaria, the Regulatory Board of the Designation of Origin makes sure that the origin of the autochthonous grapes, their careful processing and quality control, come together to offer the consumer the guarantee of GetariaTxakoli.
For a correct consumption of our txakoli, there must be a good distance between glass and bottle, at least 50 centimeters, should be consumed young, and served fresh between 6° and 10° C in glass.
