With this Ortiz product you can enjoy the special Bonito del Norte marinated in first-class olive oil. The combination of excellent tuna and extra virgin olive oil creates an exceptionally original flavour that preserves both the soft texture and the high nutritional value of the fish. Practical and visually appealing in decorative elongated whole pieces.

Albacore tuna (Thunnus alalunga), also known as longfin tuna, is the most prized of its kind due to its texture and flavour. It has a long centre fin that makes up to two thirds of its size, which gave it the characteristic name "alalunga" (long fin). They are caught individually in the Bay of Biscay when they have reached their peak maturity. The tuna are then cleaned, cut up and prepared by hand - an absolute mark of quality for Conserverie Ortiz.

The flesh of the Bonito del Norte is very light and has a delicate pink to whitish colour. This distinguishes it from other tuna species with darker flesh. Bonito del Norte has a mild and delicate flavour. Its flesh is particularly tender and juicy, making it a highly sought-after tuna speciality. The combination of albacore tuna and organic extra virgin olive oil creates an exceptionally original flavour that preserves both the soft texture and the high nutritional value of the tuna. Bonito del Norte is rich in protein and a good source of omega-3 fatty acids. It also contains vitamins and minerals such as vitamin D and selenium. Bonito del Norte is particularly popular in Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine and is often served in various dishes and tapas. Its mild flavour and delicate texture make it a sought-after delicacy in international cuisine. Compared to the "usual" tinned tuna fillets, the difference in flavour and texture alone is truly impressive.
