Adrada Ecológica S.L.
The winery was built in 2001 and it is to be found in the village of ADRADA DE HAZA, on a slope where visitors can still find some small, traditional, family-owned wine cellars. The winery is an example of bioconstruction. It was built using natural materials such as limestone, which is abundant in the area, and wood.
The walls are made of stone and are 60 centimetres thick. They contain natural cork to provide insulation and enable us to ensure that the temperature inside the building remains constant all the year round, with only slight variations.
The ceiling, the windows, the doors and the great gate at the main entrance are all made of wood which has been treated with environmentally friendly products to prevent any smells which could adversely affect the wine. Stainless steel has been used in the gangway and the machinery to ensure that the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained. The bottom floor of the winery is underground and this is where the wine is aged – in barrels made of French and American oak.
The winery is positioned north to south to enable it to cool down in summer and heat up in winter. It is a small winery – capacity is limited to about 60,000 litres – producing wines of high quality.
