Alkorta

The company Bacalaos Alkorta is situated in the heart of the Basque Country between Bilbao and San Sebastian. They have been processing cod for nearly 40 years.

They produce a wide range of different fish, each of which is appropriate to a particular recipe, as well more heavily salted and de-salted cuts of cod.

Although the career of the Alkorta brothers in the food sector goes back to 1976, Commercial Alkorta Anaiak was established in 1997 and offers a wide range of top-quality cod products: salted, desalted or frozen.

Alkorta applies rigorous desalting, quality control, packaging, storage, and distribution processes to ensure that the product reaches customers with the right amount of salt and ready to cook.

Since 2009, the company has been operating from a new facility in the town of Elgoibar
